Yes, you're also writing something important. Consistency is key. About 95 % of people will give up within the first six months - simply because a website doesn't see good traffic or sales in 6 months. But if you can work hard throughout these six months (and beyond), I can guarantee you that you will not regret.

Personally, I have the ability and personality to sit hyper focused and work on IM projects for 9 hours straight - and then go out and be social in the evening. Put your phone in the other side of the room. Stop being on Facebook. Stop scrolling down BHW threads every day. That will eventually get you a lot of money if you do things right. User friendly platform, good content and good keyword research. In addition to being discplined - and you'll succeed.

Thanks man!! :) That really helps a lot, encouraging. You know when you are working hard and don’t see anything you can easily get the feeling that “ah, it’s not gonna work for ME”.
Despite you might are doing weverything right.. still nothing. Simply because you havent given enough time to it, but it’s hard to really know the difference.

When you are doing wrong, when you havent given enough time.. when you are in it, it’s kind of hard to tell.

Well, at least its a plus that I realised I have been doing it wrong for the first 15 articles.

So I have to give another 6months, tons of good quality articles based on good keywords. And meantime building backlinks… and then, in 6mnths, I should see some results that helps me keep going.

Great journey! I was following your last one, and I believe that this one will be even more successful!

If it's not asked yet, I have 2 questions for you:

1. How many articles do you publish per day?
2. What kind of links are you building? Niche Edits / Guest Posts? On legit sites or some platforms?

I was there for a while, but didn't like it much. There are better cities in SEA.

The SEO community up there is gold though. If you are a newbie and wants to learn from "the big guys"; go there for a couple of weeks. People are super open and willing to share their information.

However, I didn't really feel that I needed that info too much. I'd rather have a rich social life with a football team, great dating scene, loads of friends and luxury hotels in some other big city. Chiang Mai gives me the "hippy vibe", which is very far from my personality. Loads of vegan girls at the coworking space with a ring through their nose eating their lunch in elephant pants. Nah - not for me.

The job has mainly consisted of updating old articles. So we haven't published many new ones. However, I've probably filled the website with 30,000-60,000 words now. The old articles were garbage 300 words articles. And there was literally zero internal linking. So I have to fix the house first before I buy and build a new garage. ;) But don't worry - that garage will be built.

My friend owns 150-200 websites which he is linking from. So that whole linkbuilding thing is 100 % "hands off" from myself, which is why he is an ideal partner.

Looks like a great journey and good idea to share the book you recommend to stay motivated. Might take a look at that book actually because motivation in these kind of journeys and website building comes and goes.
 

February update - no work done​

By "no work done", I literally mean: no work was done this month on this project. I am super busy on my other projects as my friend will come to visit me in SEA in April. So during the whole April, I don't have time to do anything but to drink beer, lay on the beach, hang out with friends and meet new interesting people. :)

So. That's why this project won't get much attention in Q1.

Still nothing, but let's hope we can get it to 2000 USD/month one day. November 2022? =)

Amazing :) At the moment, I am very happy in other cities in SEA. But Bali might seem like a decent option.

However, from my understanding the community is heavily based on "vegan yoga women with elephant pants and ring in their nose", lol.

Search "Chiang Mai SEO" on Facebook and you'll find the community. =) They have a meeting every Thursday I believe, which is super helpful.

If you go to Chiang Mai, I would also recommend Yellow Coworking Space. Loads of international SEOs hanging around there.

Something weird happened, I guess. Four days in the month, and we are already on 13 sales.

I always tend to say to people that "if you don't work, nothing will happen to your websites". But I guess Google has finally picked up on some of our money articles on this website.

at 13 sales in 4 days, that would be 90-100 sales in a month! :o
 
March update - traffic and revenue record

Hi guys, I’m keeping this update extremely short. Haven't worked a single hour on this project in March.

Traffic:

Income:

Revenue: 324 USD
#sales: 47

Definitely a new record on both number of sales and revenue. Still no money though. Far from the goal as well.

Things I will do in April:

Lay on the beach, meet new people, play pool and drink beer in various bars, travel around SEA with a couple of friends and enjoy the sun. That’s it.

Back to work in May.

July update

I've literally given up BHW as I don't spend much time on forums anymore. But just to end this thread, I can tell you that we are getting closer and closer to the 2000 USD/month goal.

I think that your journey is already a success, $900 is close to the target.
 
I don't know - are we really gonna see the site hit the target in Q4? Would be too mental. Haven't worked a minute on the site for months now.

It's just lovely when the money and traffic keeps pouring in behind your back.
