Contacting buyers for feedback

I've sold quite a few items on eBay recently, and most of my buyers received their items 2-3 weeks ago. Of the 20 or so, only 1 has left feedback. In your experience, how long does it generally take buyers to leave feedback?

I mean, at what point is it okay to contact them and ask if everything with the product was fine, and whether they could take a minute to leave me feedback rating their experience?

Buyers are reminded that they have pending feedback, and as a buyer myself I always loved leaving feedback. All the A+++++ warmed my heart.

So, want to be generous and give them a week? Very generous and give 2?

Feel free to send an email as a followup asking how things are going. Hopefully this will get the buyer into feeling a little more appreciative.

I haven't sold on ebay in a while, but I used to leave feedback once payment clears. If I were you I wouldn't feel obligated to leave buyers feedback until they leave you feedback. Ebay is already such a buyer's market that it's only fair to do this to sort of level the playing field because a buyer can get a lot of feedback from cheap products and then screw over a seller and ebay will just be "well, the buyer has received a lot of positive feedback...."

Something that I do, and has worked for me is just write on a little piece of paper or note card "Thank you for your purchase, Your feedback is very important to me, Hope to hear from you soon" Or something close to that.

Every time I buy something, I leave feedback right after I know the item is in good condition, (depending on what it is).

If your delivery time frame is say 7 days and you are sure of the general trend that parcels get delivered within a week. Make sure to send messages to all of them in 8-12 days of sale asking them about how was the product and demand a positive 5-star feedback indirectly.

Some buyers don't leave feedbacks, It might be a good idea to check the person's FEEDBACKs OUT. Some buyers never leave feedbacks.

Usually, people who are not satisfied with their purchase they will jump on their computer and start communicating to the seller about their bad experience or go for the negative feedback directly. So if you don't receive a feedback after many days of DELIVERED item, you would want to give your buyer a few days before starting to bombard with messages ( might be annoying ).

Make sure you keep a good communication with your customers , depending on the items you sell the time frame may vary for them to leave you feedback.Also there is a category of buyers that dont leave feedback , so generally within one week after the item arrived to customer is a reasonable time frame for a buyer to leave feedback , i would recommend to contact them within this time frame asking if everything is ok with the delivery and if they would be kind enough to leave a feedback.I can understand you regarding this issue as it is annoying when you offer your best service and buyers dont take 2 minutes to leave a positive feedback but only if something is wrong they contact you and leave negative feedback lol.

feedback is a bit of a nightmare now and has been for a few years as the bueyrs know sellers can do nothing. Recent stats I saw sow around 50% of buyers leave feedback, used to be nearer 80%

Best you can do is a nice email, thanking them again for their purchase and if there is anything else you can do, then at the end just ask if they would be so kind as to leave a 5* dsr and feedback, just tell them that the feedback is important to you and if they feel that anything less than 5* is warranted please give you a chance to fix it

I don't usually sell frequently, but when I do, I've had maybe about a little over half of them leave me feedback. I usually send a little note along with the package asking them to kindly let me know if the package arrived safely, and if they have time, if they could please leave feedback. I try to make the note as friendly as possible, and I usually get emails telling me how they loved the messages! This makes them more likely to take the time to leave feedback imo, but if you don't have time to write little notes, I'd say wait about a week or two before writing an email asking them if they received the item.

seams like less and less buyers even bother to leave feedback now

90% of eBay buyers are ASSHOLES, makes you wanna scam them all together, but then some of them are really great people...

I find that most buyers do not leave feedback on a regular basis. I have noticed though, that they usually always leave feedback if you show even the slightest extra effort. Whether it be how you package the item, if you include a thank you note, throwing in something extra, writing them a message about their order that seems personalized and not just as a default mass message, or you can even explain that there feedback is crucial to keeping you in business.

I am a power seller on ebay and have several accounts and I have experimented with different ways to get people to leave feedback. On my main account the people who haven't left me feedback at all total over 100 +
but I would never contact them and ask them to leave any.

On one of my accounts I always leave feedback first and it seems to work well. Lets face it if they are going to leave negative feedback your hands are tied you would not be able to leave them negative feedback anyway. All you can do do is add a little comment of your own under their feedback left for you.

Asking people to leave you feedback is never advised by a lot of sellers on ebay it can backfire on you in some cases. Sometimes if a person is not happy with what He or She has bought will just not leave feedback of any description rather than leave negative feedback but. you asking for positive feedback may just nudge them into doing the opposite.

I agree with this to. I find it best that when I mark an item as dispatched I also message them saying thanks and please be aware that our system will automatically leave you positive feedback when you leave your's. Hope to deal with you again soon.

Negs can really screw you over unless your a high volume seller.
