Contabo VPS good enough ???

Hello Bhw members,

I want to switch to an other VPS provider. I am now happy with the provider where i am now.
But the costs are $120 monthly(6 cores 12 threads E5-1650, 64GB RAM, 2x3TB SATA)

Interessed in ( contabo ) 2x vpsL 4cores 14gb ram ) total €40 for 2 vps.
Price is much better.

And i need 2 smaller vps instead of 1 larger vps.
At my current vps provider is this to expensive to have there 2 vps.

Somehow i visit the site contabo, site looks good and the prices looks better.
But they have so many bad reviews from 2011/2014
-they are scammers
- they steal
- ask more money
Etc etc etc

But they are still active in 2017 and really can't find reviews in this period.
So before i make a choice what to do i need your advice.

I have a Contabo dedicated server but have only had it for a few months now. So far, no problems.
I went with them after an associate recommended them. He has been using them for years and has never had an issue with them - again for dedicated server though. Afraid I can't give any advice specifically related to their VPS.

Yes somebody sended this link to me.
He use a vps for 1 month now and he is (still) happy with it but he use it just for 1 month.

There are soooooo many bad reviews from years ago.
Just want to be sure

I imagine you can probably find shitty reviews for basically all hosting companies, especially if you go back far enough.
Maybe do a google search for reviews, but set the search filters to show results 'from the past year'. At least you're likely to be getting a more up to date view.

Thanks, you are right.
I give everybody a chance and don't judge them on old reviews.
But i don't want to lose my social media accounts because of a bad provider wich ( maybe steals something ).
This would be very bad and don't want to risk that.

We had the Contabo hosting in 2014 for approximately one year and there was no problem with them. Having that said, we only hosted simple Facebook apps (like competitions) that our agency developed for our clients. I also had one teenage boy to manage the server. Good old times

But there prices looks very good.

Yeah, but the " windows vps extreme " has just 2 cores and just 2gbRAM price is also good $28

Contabo : 21$ 4cores 14Gb ram

May i ask when you started to use it ?
In this whole time never had any problems ?
Connection/speed or something else.

Nothing like : stealing stuff,let you pay more money or some other weird things ? ( like the bad reviews )

I haven't used them but I think for the price point they can be tried out for a month, might be worth it.

That's right! But it takes lot of time to move everything to new VPS. Also there are bad reviews about " they steal stuff " old reviews from many years ago.
That's the reason why i don't ordered yet.

Stealing sounds a bit harsh and probably from unhappy user(s).
They are fairly a big company so I doubt they would be stealing you money.

Do get a dropbox account to back your data up just in case.
There isn't a thousands of way to get 14 GB at such pricing (ECC RAM is an industry standard cost wise) so according to the emplacement of your VPS, and how they manage sharing the RAM across users, you may be getting a sweet deal out of them.

I really don't understand how a host can steal money from you

except when they don't respond to your support tickets.

Stealing data, that is also far fetched, what would they do with your basic web data ?

Also, only way they can do sneaky stuff is to inject links on to your sites from a SEO point of view and that can be easily found out/stopped by a basic webmaster.
