Constant Contact - Doesn't allow affiliate marketing?

Sorry if this is posted in the wrong area.

I signed up for Constant Contact as a way to organize webmasters we are reaching out to become affiliates in our program. Right after sending out the first batch (maybe 23 people), the account gets closed and I had to call customer service.

They said that their TOS does not allow promoting affiliate marketing (offers) - I asked if this also applied to recruiting affiliates and was told yes.

Has anyone else had this issue? I can't find any information on their website but something just doesn't sound right.

I did manage to find this...but I don't think I was in violation of it based on the way its phrased.

"Provides content or communicates with subscribers for the primary purpose of affiliate marketing, including but not limited to communications where there is no direct relationship with the product other than affiliate commissions, communications that contain multiple disparate affiliate links, or communications sent for the primary purpose of affiliate commissions. This prohibition would not apply to communications that include occasional affiliate links or links to products that are related to the business establishing the Constant Contact account."

Can anyone recommend another provider that I won't run into this issue with?

Constantcontact is a retarded service. I had a similar experience with them years ago when they offered free trials. They only all for businesses like ecommerce, etc to thrive.

Getresponse.com or Aweber.com

There are many more out there. Just call support and explain your business model and see if it complies with their TOS.

or you can just read the TOS (not something many like to do)

So frustrating lol - their "Help" is awful to navigate to get through. Just trying to send an email to them sent through me a loop about 6 times before taking me to the form.

I'll check out the other two. CC was supposed to send me the contacts I put in today, but I'm not holding my breath. I asked them about utilizing their service to promote the products we sell to our customers and was told "we'd have to analyze that". I asked her "Well whats the exact purpose of using email marketing if not to sell SOMETHING"....she didnt have an answer.

What a joke.
