Hi all,

Lately, I have been wondering what would be the best tactic to use keywords in my posts:

When we have a couple of keywords which are related, how do we choose between making one big post or making a separate post per keyword?
The keywords are related enough to make it into one ' ultimate guide' or something similar, but can also be topics for a 'question' post on his own.

Example:
Best DSLR camera battery
DSLR camera battery safety
How to best charge a DSLR camera battery
DSLR camera battery tips

There are a couple of options here.
1. All in one big post with reviews of the best batteries and a info section with headings, targeting the other info keywords
2. Split buyer / info keywords: one post for "best.." and the rest all consolidated in an info post
3. Every keyword its own post. So one money post for reviews, and the others are smaller posts answering the keyword question or something like "10 tips for charging a DSLR battery"

My intuition usually goes for #2. But lately I have been reading about KGR keywords and posts ranking easily for those long tail info keywords, making me rethink wether option #3 would be more valuable.

Would a post rank better for the info keywords when using tactic #2 or when using tactic #3?

What do you have found to be better for ranking / traffic?

Or do you have a very different strategy ?

It depends on the competition. If there’s none, I would make a pillar post capturing tons of keywords. If there already are big posts like that and even some competitors going for the safety keyword, you should target 1 post for the safety keyword.
