I'm considering selling my Amazon/Kindle knowledge offline. I would try to get together a group of 10-15 people and give them the down and dirty on writing books for Kindle and what sells. Has anyone done this? I'd like to know your lessons learned.

I would be very interested!!.. the reason I recently joined this forum was because of an interesting discussion about KDP. I can't PM so please send me your email or skype so we can get in touch.

Thanks!

same boat as you mate, but im more looking for SEO clients and websites that i can help ranking in Google etc. Well so far what i have been doing is word of mouth, my next step would be to email small independent businesses about broader opportunities online

Just wrap it up into an ebook and sell it on clickbank.

I agree with this... because, the hardest part is getting someone to believe you before they pay you.. I think this would be easier online.. And potentially more profitable.

This might be a good idea.. but since you are trying to reach the offline market which is not familiar with CB maybe try getting it published on Amazon CS which will increase your reputation by being a physical book published author.

I am toying with the idea of doing this too!. I haven't nailed down the details yet though. I was thinking about promoting seminars via meetup and linkedin.

The only problem with selling it online is that you can make maybe $10-15 per sale possibly. You can charge people up to 10x that for symposiums and seminars.

The physical book will be your "invitation letter" to your seminar or workshop :)

How would you feel to receive a physical copy of a book from a potential partner inside one of Amazon's shipping boxes?

Don't you just love to see those packages on your mail box?

there is certainly a lot of potential there... how many professionals don't dream with writing and having their book published? Many people think they have something unique to offer.. so why not help them and make some good money in the process? :)

I published a few books in the Kindle and it's worked really well. I put it at the basic price, and people eat it up. I am looking at getting another book published. These are in the credit repair niche so people like the info cheaper if not super cheap. It also adds authority to whatever it is you are doing.

It's a VERY awesome marketplace. Monetize it for the fact to be the publisher.

Basically, my goal is to put together an offline class. Something small (5-10 people) and relatively short (maybe 2 hours). I made right under $600 this month on KDP. It's my first month on there so I think that's pretty solid. I was planning on just telling people how to start making money on Kindle. I wasn't sure how to go about it or how much to charge.

Your idea is solid and certainly profitable... you could turn a cheap public worskshop into a full coaching program with continuity for people interested in getting their drafts published... I love this idea!

I've been posting ads for about a week or so and haven't gotten a single response yet.

I remember reading a thread on here where a guy hosted IM lessons in his house. Anyone else had any experience selling offline lessons?

I say offline you can stretch your profits to reasonable goals then just covert that money online

It can definitely be done, but this economy is so difficult for many. A few barriers that you my have is to try and first find that targeted audience. Since you will offer a course locally, you will have to advertise on CL or through local job bulletin boards. People are often looking for new ways to make money and they would be ideal candidates.

Another method, as was mentioned above, is to give something away for free. offer sign ups for your FREE newsletter or report and then begin building a targeted e-mail list. Once you can start to capture e-mail addresses, then you can survey your subscribers with an auto responder and find out if they would be interested in this "course" in their area. Create sign-ups with a deadline to register as "seating is limited".

This offering would be down the road, of course, but something to look forward to as you will inevitably have to expand this service to outlying markets to make money. To negate the high costs involved in traveling, arranging to stay at a hotel, and finding a facility to rent by the hour to give your "course", you can offer the same service online. James Jones is one of the better ones at doing this technique and is using Kindle. He is making solid money I'm sure.

Online will be more profitable to you than offline as you will reach out to a larger following. Also, you can outline a way that 'affiliates' can earn with your program so that residual income develops. After a while, you won't be doing much of anything and you can focus on the next method before this one becomes entirely saturated.

Offline, you will struggle with higher costs vs. paid sign-ups without having web celebrity status. If everyone has heard of you, no problem getting people to sign-up to one of your courses and you could charge pretty much anything you feel is fair....they will pay for that knowledge. Without being well known in the niche, your'e just as good as your CB screenshot.

Just my $.02....Good Luck!
