I am considering buying Scrapebox to build backlinks to my sites. What I want to know is that after the Panda update, is building links still valid? Or should I be buying something else to help promote my website on search engines?
I have read a number of forums here and it wasnt clear.

Scrapebox is a must have tool. Also never blast your main money website. Use scrapebox blast on 3rd Tier. Also, scrapebox is super awesome for harvesting links. So go ahead and make a purchase.

Been seriously considering a purchase of Scrapebox myself - fascinates the bejeepers out of me - have a ton of questions but figure buying it and diving in will help me learn and answer most of them; however, I can't figure out if it can be used in a way that avoids being penalized for a money site. In other words, could I use it to help me create backlinks that don't have that "automated look" - and would be similar to honest back linking efforts?

Also am wondering if you absolutely have to use/purchase a proxy? I get the reasons for a proxy - not a n00b online or to IM by a long stretch, but am a total n00b to any grey/black hat techniques and / or tools, so am a bit confused about some of these issues.

Any bit of insight would be greatly appreciated!

I've got a few websites still holding #1 rankings for medium difficulty keywords with mostly blog comments built using Scrapebox. Link building is far from dead, but as ugjunk suggested, I would avoid large direct blasts of any type of link to your main website.

You can customize your comments to make them as unique and original as you like. The more effort you put in, the better results Scrapebox puts out. As for using proxies, it's highly recommended but not an absolute necessity. I've used my own proxy network running Scrapebox blasts for a year now and have received zero complaints.

This is one of only a few automated style programs I've invested in and it's worth every penny. As the guys above have said, use it carefully and mainly on your tiered links.

I'll be honest, I mainly use it these days for harvesting proxies for other uses, as I'm cheap and don't invest in private proxies. It takes no time to harvest 50 or so fast, google passed proxies.

Must have, must have indeed.
ScrapeBox can be used in so many ways, from blasting to scrapeing everything you need to start a backlinking strategy.
Lol, it's worth the money even when used only to scrape proxies. :D

SB is not a comment spamming tool.. It is much more than that and a must have for any internet marketer. Just look at the addons, every add on can be sold as a separate software for $50 plus.

Also it is not true that you cannot send direct backlinks to the site.. You can do so, but you need to be meticulous while scraping, filtering and scheduling (split the list and blast) while taking your website's age and authority in to consideration.

SB is one tool you need not think and analyse before purchasing. All the best

I recomend you to buy ScrapeBox becuase it's a tool that save you time and do what you can do manually, but 10 or 100 times faster. Just be sure to have a VPS to run it on. Because as I noticed, my internet connection couldn't handle so much blasts as I wanted to do. So maybe you should buy a VPS with ScrapeBox on already?

I would have done that if I knew it was out there. :)

Rep given for your reply - thank you so much, that was very helpful. Ironically, I also have your Magic Submitter open in another window. :top: Looks good, too - great price offer on that.

Thank you, that helps tremendously already!

Great - definitely willing to put in the effort.

Oh...that sounds awesome. Running my own would be totally new territory for me. I've used - and bought - anonymous browser type software, but it was so painfully slow I won't do that again. Will do some research on implementing something like this. Thanks.

Thank you! But I'm (sorry) a bit confused on the "Tiered links" - have to figure that out yet.

LOL on the cheap - I hear you. I've been forced into being - what I call - "Frugal" but really, what's the dif?? But that's another concern - will buying scrapebox lead to having to buy proxies, a VPN, etc.etc. - I just simply cannot afford it at this time. I'm not one shy to spending but I've been down and out since April, 2011 when Panda b***h slapped my biggest money site and have been struggling, working and fighting to try to find my way back. As everyone here can well imagine, it tanked my income drastically. Majorly SUX! I hate being broke.

Everyone, this feedback was so helpful, many thanks to all.

thank you all for your honest opinion, I have also checked a few videos on youtube and i can see this being one tool that I can use for my sites.

You don't have to use it to build links. The Scrape function itself will save you a lot of time.

SB is prolly the best software you can get for this money and if you add your own twist it will never get useless even with all of the future updates.
I have used it pre and post penguin and it helps 99% of the time.

Just go ahead and buy it ...read some tuts and it will get your work volume down alot.

Just my 2 cents...

tiered sites: the concept here is you build links to your money site from high PR sites like article directories, bookmarking sites, press releases, directories, web 2.0 etc. You then use Scrapebox to blast the urls of these high PR pages which contain your links. Google is not goinng to de-index ezine articles after a SB blast. The blast still pushes link juice to your site, but through the high PR site.

Now, I'm not an expert but... SB contains a Fast Poster for mass link creation, a slow poster, which is still automated, but has a higher success rate. It also has a manual poster that basically lets you use your scraped list of urls to semi-auto post comments, basically typing each one on the fly like you would if you were doing it by hand, but a lot faster.

Finally, with regards to proxies. SB does have it's own built in proxy scraper which hunts down public shared proxies for your use. It is a nice harvester and lets you filter out slow proxies and pick the cream of the crop for comment posting, but there are benefits to having your own private proxies.

1. You don't have to take proxy harvesting breaks all the time.
2. More of your comments end up being successful when you use private proxies.

The ease with which you can scrape, check PR and OBL and make yourself a sweet juicy targeted list is worth the price alone. The fact that you can use it for autoposting to captcha sites (which few people bother with) is a bonus. Fast posting comments and trackbacks is mostly done for indexing those wierd tier 3 links you've built (wikis, forums and the like). Times are a changing, but it just means you need to be smarter with using the tool. It ain't a chainsaw, it's a paintbrush - go make some art!
