Connecting to SQL server using php on dreamhost

Man, has anyone set up connection to SQL, not MYSQL, but SQL on dreamhost? It seems impossible. Im trying to use the microsoft .dll's to do it and it just will not cooperate. Does anyone know any secrest how to connect to sql using php?

Yeah I saw that one. The problem is im running it on dreamhost. I cant get it to install the drivers

You can only do it with paid host service
