It is better to enter the no follow for affiliate links but it is not a fixed rule.
If the site that you're linking on your webpage is trusted link it with follow tag, if it's crappy/spam site do it with no-follow

You are doing it right but there isnt a fixed rule, you might want to vary things to see what works best.

If you wanna do more number of links to the authority site from your site, then do some no-follow links too.. That is not bad, as it is authority site you will get the juice from that site.. So it will help in that way too.. For affiliate sites no-follow links is right and many follows that only.. So, most of them are thinking that for affiliate sites we should get only no-follow links (like rule)..

Remember, that you kinda competing with the merchants so posting a direct affiliate link will benefit them in ranking. You're there to outrank them and sell their products.
