Confused by eBay Limits

I had a relative make a 100% legit account with real info etc.
-PP is 100% verified.
-Used a PO box instead of a residential adderss.
I listed my first item, selling limits dropped to 5 items and $200. I didn't know selling limits that low even existed...all my previous stealth accounts even had 10 and $1000.
Has anyone ever experienced limits these bad before?

I haven't hit anything this crazy, but I have had Ebay jerk me around... have you tried calling them? It'll probably take 2-3 hours and a lot of transfers but they might be able to point you in the right direction. Paypal can also give some tips, too, and generally are easier to work with than Ebay.

That said, here's a few things you might want to look at.

• Is the account over 90 days old? Older accounts generally have better limits.
• Do you have a "merchant" paypal? If not, upgrade. It's a minor change that helps.
• Have you sold at least one thing on a regular basis for the last 90 days?
• Do you have a bank account AND credit card hooked up to your paypal?
• How does your feedback look? If it's not very positive, this can do it.
• Do you have much feedback at all? Higher is always better!
• Maybe consider using an actual address? PO boxes can show up as PO boxes if they look.

I have seen this twice. Not quite that low but it was still odd.

I have found linking a bank account BEFORE you start listing to PP is more important than before.

I kind of expect something like this every now and again, normally I just walk away from the acocunt and make another. I have made a new one and got a $1,000 selling limit in less than 1 hour of work spread over a few days. Why bug Eba y with a phone call?, when I feel it is faster to start over.

Recently I did just pick one of these accounts back up (over a year since its first sale now).. It only has a $500 limit. I have sold items on it for over a month and no increase. I have sold even less on other accounts that have all recieved instant increases... makes no sense but something about that account pissed EB off. I do not expect that account to grow but i will give it another month of selling to just test it... then probably come back in 6 months and try again. I predict once they hate you they hate you. LOL

Don't get attached to an account is my policy.

I actually got the 5 and $200 AFTER calling them... I suppose I'll just do things the honest way and will hopefully get a new stealth account in the mean time

If you need help with increases with selling limit, I could help. I could easily increase any new ebay account to 100 items and 5k selling limit. Even if it was made today, feel free to skype me ill be more than happy to help
