Confused about using web 2.0 to create backlinks

So i understand what web 2.0 is and how it works, but having done some research into parasite websites, I'm no longer clear on the role they play. The definitions seem to conflict, i was hoping someone could help clear it up.

Parasite usage - Create a blog post on a website like wordpress.org, blogger.com or some other blogging site that lets you have a ******** backlink. Buy a bunch of cheap PBN backlinks and direct them at that blog post. Juice will flow nicely to the money site.

Standard usage - Web 2.0 blogs are useless by default, they need high quality backlinks just like any other website would. So myfancyblog.wordpress.org has 0 value if it has just been created, it needs backlinks first. Therefore its of little value to create a brand new blog and create a bunch of blog posts with backlinks to your money site. If you want to use wordpress.org or any 2.0 website like this to pass juice, they need to have some decent backlinks and be ranking on their own. This is why its best to just pay someone who has put the time into a proper blog and not bother creating a quick blog yourself.


For years, I've always seen the standard usage as the way to go for 2.0 blogs. This is why I have never created one. The parasite definitions seems like you could create a wordpress page for travel, make fake posts about your travels around the world, blast them with cheap backlinks and they will pass juice to the money site.

Which method is correct?

Both methods are completely different.

Parasites has nothing to do with the Web 2.0's.

Parasites you create on high authority sites so spamming the inner pages would still rank the page because of the overall site authority. On the flip side, you cannot spam a web2.0 with spam links as it will eventually affect your money site.

For web2.0 you can read about tier link building and there are several gigs available on SEOClerks for tier link building. If you don't have the time to manually build links you can outsource it any day.

If I compare both the things, of course, web2.0 takes time and is a long boring process when compared to parasites but Web2.0 are made for long-term. Apart from that, with web2.0 you have full control.
