So, from what i understand when you build links and what not, you're trying to show search engines that your domain and pages have more authority and are stronger in a way because people are linking to them and therefore trust your domain and are interested in what you have to say. However, I've read about how when link building, it would seem fishy to Google if you had like 30 links in one day and then no link what so ever for the next week. Is this really of concern or can i link build when i want and how ever much i want. I'm asking this because I am going on a few weeks vacation soon and therefore wont be updating the site much and will not be link building for those few weeks. Therefore, should i wait till i come back from my vacation to start the work, or can i start it right away, take some time off and continue at it again when i'm back?

have a look at the sites you are competing with, they won't have links everyday, they have have strange pattern spurts, maybe some everyday here and there, building 30 in one go, and then nothing for a few months, might or might not, be a bit fishy, it depends what google thinks,

Thanks however, from your own experience would it be too risky to do something right away and then be idle for a few weeks ? Should i simply wait before i come back from vacation? Thanks.
Furthermore, how much would seem fishy in your opinion? Do you typically have some certain criterias when link building ? For example, 2 links a week? max 10 a certain day? etc?
