Hello to all the awesome people of this subforum. I have some questions and would love some advice from the wonderful people here.

TLDR: 10 years in IM. Have done a lot of things, mostly short stunts like spamming. Not close to my goal of financial independence. Planning to do dropshipping and Azon blogging. If everything goes right, will my future be secure of the next 10 years? Or should I keep an offline job to be more secure?

Now, I have been doing internet marketing for a long time. I have had successes. I have had failures. Back in 2009, I started selling wsos and made some profit with them. Those were early days in my life. I was 17 in 2009 and so I experimented with a lot of things. By 2013, I moved on to doing YouTube spam and seo+cpa. Again, I had little success but mostly the effort was pointless since it didn't move me anywhere close to my goal of being financially successful.

I did article writing and some more spamming [instagram and Twitter] but the end result was not much different. I'm again back at square one. Now, I want to do something that lasts for a while, a long while. I'm not married yet but I don't want to get embarrassed in front of my future wife regarding money. I don't want it to be a short stunt of growth and then just hopelessness. I want it to be steady for a while, as long as it can. The problem is - there are very few things with such a promising future. Most people on sites like BHW who were successful in 2012/2013 are nowhere to be seen, most likely doing offline jobs. That discourages me. I know that consistency is one thing IM not known for. You can be successful here but making constant money for the next 10 years is an anomaly. Nevertheless, I've found Amazon affiliate blogging and dropshipping to be some of my options but I'm still confused.

Will my amazon niche site be running after 5 years if I keep adding content on a frequent basis. Dropshipping is also quite unstable but has good profit margins and fewer risks compared to spamming. I would love to hear your thoughts. As content is moving from text to videos, will the blogging method work after 5 years? I have some thoughts about creating a branded authority site and would love your feelings about that too. Lastly, if you believe that there will always be consistency problems with IM and I have to move from one money making method to another, should I secure myself by taking an offline job?

Thank you for all your help. May God bless you!

You are young and unmarried, probably with no debt. You are ahead of the game.

Here are the facts -

The economy is overstretched. The stock market is bloated beyond belief and waiting for a crash. Automation is increasing it's efficiency (removing human jobs from the equation).

There is not now and there never has been enough "good" jobs for everyone.

1) You need a skill to sell. Something that not everyone has the determination to learn and that hopefully doesn't take a genius to learn but that you can always sell.

The answer - Computer Security

Niches - Administration, Hacking, Programming, Tools, Teaching, Analyst, Forensics, Penetration Testing as well as sub-niches related to them.

Need - The USA (let alone other countries) is over 4 million people short of what are needed. I have news for the people that did the estimates. April 2017 saw the hacking group "Shadow Brokers" release stolen NSA security tools on the net. Result - In about 2 years from now you will see MILLIONS of newly trained hackers come online, that benefited from the tech of those tools (think China, India).

I predict the estimates of computer security professionals needed will triple to 12 million. Computer security will be the hottest career choice for the next 30 years. 100K a year jobs will be the norm.

A four year degree will make hiring easy BUT it will not be necessary if you are determined.

How? - You will need AT LEAST one professional certification (like CISSP) AND as many micro-certifications as you can get as well as watching every Youtube video on security (from Hackathons, Defcon, etc)

So get started. Everything is available on torrents, or be lazy and buy from EBay.

CISSP book $4
CISSP Video Training $4
CISSP questions and exam simulator $5

Certified Ethical Hacker 10 Video Course $10
Certified Ethical Hacker 10 Book $4
Certified Ethical Hacker 10 Exam Dump $4

There are many more certifications and training there like CompTIA, etc

THEN go to Cybrary.it and take ALL the free courses

THEN if you can afford it, find a discount coupon (like Black Friday, etc) and enroll in their monthly subscription and start taking courses.

You will need one or two official certifications (CISSP, CEH, CompTIA, etc) as well as what you can get from Cybrary.

Submit your resume ALONG WITH copies of every certification and micro-certification you have. Companies are ALWAYS looking for the "next whiz kid" that they can train. Short hair, no piercings, remove the tatoos and always wear a suit. If you are in IT, ALWAYS look like a banker.

Once you have a real skill, then you can build your network of niche sites but you will probably be more interested in finance and how to invest your money.

A rule from my book "Your success begins and ends with your skill set"

Every person that reads this post could do this and it will never put a dent in the number of people needed.

Prediction - The United States just created what will eventually be the 8th department of the military - The Space Force. In a few years they will realize that they need to create the "Cyber Force". Let us hope they aren't too late.

Sincerely,

TheEye

Don't confuse internet marketing with spam, affilliate and dropshipping. You are useless and expensive middleman, always destined to be driven out of business sooner or later.

Real money is with products and services, where internet marketing is supporting your sales. This is called business. You sell real thing and your internet marketing skills push you ahead of competition.

Wow! That was some solid advice. Clearly, you know what you are talking about.

I will work on my skills but currently, I was enquiring about the longevity of my drafted ideas.

So I should create my own brand and everything else is secondary. Got it!

If anyone could predict the future we'd all be billionaires. In the end we have visionaries that go all in 100% on their predictions, a lot fail but some get it right there has to be a few that get it right or else we'd never progress as a society.

My guess, as a noob, in the future it will be harder than ever to get someone's attention. Big companies will be able to foot the premium for celebrities and front page ad spots, but small businesses? They'll be left in the dust.

As its always been with business, being able to be proactive and quick to adjust is something big companies can't do for the most part unless you're amazon. So, my prediction is that you IM'ers with the ONE SIMPLE TRICK that big companies don't know about are gonna be key in the future. Ways for the little guys to be able to compete for attention with the big guys will become more and more important as traditional avenues like tv and radio fade. So I think focusing on small business support is key imo

We're pretty much in the same boat here. Here I am 7 years later, back to trying to figure out what should I be doing for long term. Been spamming here and there, on and off, not that I'm complaining, I had good days and bad days. Spamming is somewhat easy, requires very little investment, easy to scale when you got it figured out but one single security changes can destroy your project. Then you'll have to figure out another way to bring the traffic, and keep on doing so because you never know when one of your project gonna stop working.
While it can be tiresome, to always figure out new ideas, find a workaround to not get your account banned or whatever, I still find it to be very profitable if I count the hours I spent.

Imo if you're looking for security and stability, offline job might be the best for you. Might require qualifications and good skill for you to be satisfied with the pay and the hours you'll be working. I don't think dropshipping is good for long term. The product is not unique, and you'll most likely get the traffic from ads. Seems hard to build an audience without a brand. But once you got an idea on how to do dropshipping effectively, it probably wont be hard to come up with new product to sell every now and then, making it viable for long term. No one knows if any business would last over 5 years, and I don't think all content are moving from text to videos, it's just that video get more popular, and next thing is probably audio. I don't think people will stop using google anytime soon. So amazon niche site probably good for long term, you probably have to deal with google updates every now and then. And you can also monetize with adsense or other affiliate networks and it will be worth it to flip.
