Computing Science vs Web System Development???

As far as you are here to ask, i'd go for Web System Developpement.
But, it is not much about what general subjects but more with the content taught by your university. The purpose here is to get the most advanced class possible. Because if you learn basic hardware for science computing or if you learn HTML code as a basis for web system developpement it simply doesn't worth it.
try to get those informations for old former students, teachers and so on and check with your professional projects and what you like.

its a tough choice becuase firstly computing science requires alot of studying and effort while web development it much easier and relaxing so i can work on other things like seo and basketball.
BUT... computing science is a good degree with many jobs available while web system isnt as recongisable as computer science and doesnt have as much jobs

I would go for work, the real good time come when you have a profitable situation not when you play basketball (i like the sport very much too, and i had to quit while studying so yeah when you come back on the playgrounds you suck balls and you think that you should have kept playing, but trully you feel better when you do what you like even if you lost your crazy dunks forever )

I think you will have much better opportunities with computing science (long term) but as I study this, too, I warn you: At least in germany there is LOTS of maths involved - but it is still pretty cool

Computer science is good if you don't know what area of computers you'd like to get into, trouble is - it doesn't give you real world experience or go into enough detail in any area for it to be really valuable for a potential employer.
I'd go for computer science if I didn't know what I wanted to do - and web design if I knew I wanted to work in that field and wanted to earn more money - faster.

I did computer science at the 3rd top UK university at the UK. I'm not a researcher there in mechanical engineering.
do Computer Science. any of the web developement stuff you can easily learn around it, but doing web development you won't get any job prospects at the end. Computer science has meant i can learn programming languages in a few hours, write any software i ever need and even program embedded systems to wake me up, make my breakfast and pour me a coffee.
Yes, there is a lot of maths. Deal with it. Going into that degree from a programming background, i found the programming boring and the maths side fun. I eventually did my dissertation in a theoretical area and didn't look back since.
You can always do a masters in web development.
You're losing too much in terms of skills and knowledge and time to do web development. You might aswell sit and learn php/mysql/htm5 and buy a few bits of software other than going to uni - you'll make more money and spend far less.
If you want something you can always fall back on, there will always be jobs, open many many doors and give you the skills needed to pick up web development, stick to computer science.
Oh, and any BCS accredited Bsc(Hons) in the UK has to do some web development these days AFAIK, so you'll be able to meet and find the right people quite easily.
in case you were wondering; my research is mechanical engineering - i do data mining for wind turbine failures. Nothing to do with my degree as we didn't even do datamining. It's the maths and theory part which got my the job!

I study computer science, I make my bachelor in Germany. And I would guess you to choose computer science. It's much harder then web development but there you will learn things which you never heard of it and the main thing is you will know exactly how a computer works.
