One of my biggest concerns while working, especially when I have access to the company Dropbox, Basecamp, FTP folders, and site backends is security. There are a lot of people who don't take this seriously, but one slip up could destroy your entire business. What security measures do you guys use? I'm always looking for new ideas, for example I run Avast antivirus, I never torrent on my work computer, etc. I've also considered installing Linux on a second hard drive for better security while I'm working, has anyone gone to that extreme?

1. Just because you have Avast free (or even paid) doesn't mean you are protected.

2. I torrent on my personal computer all the time and have no issues.

3. Who said a Linux OS cannot be hacked?

If you wanna feel a bit more protected then buy Kaspersky Internet Security for instance, it is one of the best out there, though not even that can't protect you a 100%. Then buy a firewall hardware and have it configured properly.

Fact is if you don't know 100% what you are clicking on the internet you can get infected/hacked anyway, doesn't matter how protected you are. If you know your shit on the other hand then you don't even need an antivirus/firewall and be fine.

You're not having a very happy day are you?

As aty mentioned, antivirus can't detect everything, especially if the virus is crypted and fud. But still, its worth having one for protecting you from known treats . I would suggest you combine avast and Malware bytes premium. Also, I would suggest your company adding mobile/ text token authentication to your backend , so, even if someone steal your site credentials , they wont have the token unless they have your mobile.

Don't tell me to cheer up, I will wallow in my depression as long as I want!

It's never enough, I recommend you to make the most strictly backup policy you can afford

Spyware / Keylogger might be your biggest concern.

Here's some software that can keep you safe:

Keylogger

- KeyScrambler

Real-time key encryption defeats keylogging.
KeyScrambler encrypts every key you type deep in the Windows kernel. It protects your private information against known and unknown keylogging malware on millions of websites and in hundreds of essential apps.

My suggestion is to buy Norton. In my opinion it's the best anti-spyware software and maybe the best Anti-virus out there.

Stay safe and Good Luck!!

My computer is hack proof I don't download anything , 2 firewalls and 3 spyware scanners + 360 total security

Have slow internet so the hackers get impatient and give up.
