Computer or Laptop??

How many of y'all are using laptops for you IM Journey? I am thinking of getting rid of my computer and switching to a laptop... But the Dual-Monitors is holding me back from pulling the plug?

I had a PC but destroyed it. Now I'm going to buy a laptop and a Monitor to use them together.

Laptop and Monitor would be nice... I am really interested in Chromebooks but the limited disc space is a huge setback. I like the idea of being able to work anywhere WiFi is available and not being limited to my desk.

How do you destroy a PC?

Personally, I have both. I love my desktop. I love being able to upgrade it every now and then. Laptops are tedious to fix or add new hardware to.

I use my laptop when I'm travelling, or when I meet clients for coffee, or if I just want to work in bed, but my desktop is my main hub of productivity.

It really depends on what type of tasks you need to do.

If you're mainly working with emails or one-screen-taks and like to work on the go, then a laptop is the best choice.
However, if you need to do multiple tasks at the same time, and need multiple screens, then a good workstation is worth it.

You can certainly multi-task on a laptop, but having multiple screen is much more efficient.

Same response from the last time this thread was posted. Nothing has changed.

Laptop. Early 2015 Macbook Air. I can switch between "desktops" with a four-finger swipe. I've got five going usually: Evernote, Slack/iTunes, Excel/Word, Chrome/Safari, Photoshop.

If I don't want to work in my cubicle, I take it down to the basement. If the basement gets overcrowded with the lunch crown, I say eff it and go home. I can work from my couch, the balcony, even take calls from the car when I need to.

Laptop 100%.

I need a pc for the work I do (media development) and I do have an assortment of laptops for nefarious purposes. What I want is a walking robot pc tower that never drops an internet connection and will be easy to upgrade for future video cards and games.

I use 2 laptops and planning to buy a high end desktop without a graphics card .

Laptops are better cuz you can work whenever you want if you have your laptop with you

Laptops are so powerful nowadays that you don't even need a desktop. Plus you can use a laptop from wherever.

Buy a big monitor(s), keyboard, and mouse for your workstation, and just plug your laptop in.

Then you'll have the benefits of both.

I personally can't stand computers anymore. Back when I sold mine I got a cheap laptop because my room used to get heated and it runs more effectively long term.

I personally like to have both. Laptop for creating websites, reading, creating fb ads campaign and pc for bots. Currently have one PC core i3 with 4GB ram working 24/7 (Massplanner).

MacBook! I need the portability of a laptop. However, I am thinking of getting an iMac but it's too darn expensive.

Used to be all about dual monitors and Windows but lately I've been working from my MBA whenever time permits. I hardly turn on my monitors on my desktop anymore. Electricity is bundled with the condo rent, so whatever.

Have both right now But I am planning to switch to Laptop only.
Saving a little to get a new Air as i am on windows right now.

Still when I am looking to play games I usually shift to my desktop as I good pleasure over it.
Might have to purchase a PS4 too.

For the money you're spending, desktops are much more powerful than laptops. I prefer to spend decent money and got a top of the line laptop, that I know will last me a while (my current laptop is coming up on 5 years old), and every so often format the whole things and keep it running smoothly.

Plus, I like having 2 screens just by adding a single monitor instead of having 2 monitors.

The transportation part of it is just a bonus, really, since most of what I need to do on my laptop I can do on my tablet or phone, anyway.
