On my wordpress blog site I have 10 featured articles. I use post thumbnail editor to edit my thumbnails so the images aren't cropped randomly but the plugin doesn't compress the images when it resizes them. I ran my blog through multiple speed checkers and they all tell me to compress my images and it would greatly improve my load time. Is there a plugin to compress my thumbnails? Or a program that crops and compresses? Thanks!

Nowadays, just open them in Paint & re-save as JPEG; that should be good for just about anybody's internet connection.
Paint.NET and GIMP have specific settings for JPEG quality, if you want to make your thumbnails really tiny, but they'll look messier.

There is a program called "Riot" that can be used for mass optimizing/resizing photos.

Those sites say that all the time. Even after you shrink the images they will not stop saying that. All my pictures are of size 266*266 or less, yet I still get the same warning. Another one they add is "this site has too many links, Google hates it, please reduce them". Those things really don't matter.

cloudflare is the shit. If you use their beta rocket loader it does wonders for javascript. Clouldflare is the shit. I love it so much. Get it the basic is free which is good for most

Thanks for all of the feedback. I'll look more into cloudfare.

Go for the plugin "wp-smush it" its a good plugin to scale down your image size to a good extent. It has an option to bulk smush so that all the images inside your upload folders can be processed at a single button click.

To improvise speed, better implement browser caching and use a cdn like cloudflare.
