Hey there fellow members.

I have a news website that is on hold right now since i do not have the time and the will to keep on with that project.

The website's stats are the ones below:

0YXbHCA

This website is approved by Google Adsense and it is also part of Google News.

I am thinking of moving the website to a more niche-oriented content, about a specific "thing" in my area.

The problem in that I have to remove all of its content (around 11.5k posts = 18 Gbs of content) since I cannot spend that much of disk space on my new VPS to a dead project.

How do you propose that I should handle it?

Edit: I forgot to tell you that the website is in greek language and has .gr domain name

Hey there @Mr Positive!

I want to work in this domain, its news posts are copy-paste from the biggest news agency of the country and i do not have the time to do that on a constant basis.

The best scenario I am thinking of is to redirect all permalinks to the domain main page and then keep the "new" main page as a blogger setup and feel, with news that concentrates in a specific local area that the domain relates to as well.

Just no index existing posts and remove them slowly.

Redirecting 11k posts to home page is not good idea.

Umm why not look at building something or finding a script to auto import / pull the news as a source to your site if all you are doing is copy and pasting Id imagine there is a way to automate it and make it much quicker for you.

As for local area news id just create a subdomain or folder for that area specific so domain/city or domain/city-specific-news-topic

Do you have any proposal for the auto-importing script you mentioned @t2van

You can redirect this site to a new domain or why don’t you work on this site as news sector is booming currently

@Mr Positive how do you advise me to do that? I bought another domain ( pretty much the same it only misses a word like "the" in front - it wasn't available in the past). So how do i redirect the whole domain and its permalinks to the new one?

Shall I use it as alias domain?

I think a redirect to a new domain is your best option.

ps:
Ελληνας?:D

Redirecting is risky better you can deindex the post and remove it
