Hey so I've run into this a few times and I'm having a hard time coming up with a good answer to it by myself so maybe somebody here knows how to do this.

I have a few clients who I create content for and I want to find what a competitors most successful articles or pieces of content are to see what topics really resonate with people. So, given a site's domain, how would you find which pages had the most likes/comments/shares etc?

Dont think there's a way other than checking their YouTube channel and looking at their most viewed videos or manually going through their website or social networking pages.

As per the above post is true and hardest way to find such things. The past articles always rank best place in SERP and competing with them is a tough time. Google looks for aged content too and gives some weight for them.

Get a list of all pages of a desired website (sitemap if they have one). Go to likeexplorer.com , and do a bulk lookup.

There's no easy way to determine which post has ranked high other than actually following the site and monitoring which of the past and recent posts has made quite an impact to the readers. I guess it depends on the site too and on the recent trends. Like today, most of popular content points to SEO articles, blogging tips, how to write-ups and the likes. Depending on your client's business, you can Google search the niche and see the most searched keywords and start from there.

Use buzzsumo.com to find the most shared content from your competitors.

It's very hard to find a tool to check that.Better you try google itself with the desired keywords and check the competitors ranking.

Scrapebox.
Get the competitor pages then use Scrapebox Addon Social Checker.

Enter the domain into semrush and check popularly keywords for the site with their 1st page rankings. Their urls would giveaway their performances.

Use buzzsumo.com to find the most shared content from your competitors.

Unfortunately Buzzsumo only show last 12 months so you'll miss a lot of content.

Scrapebox. Get the competitor pages then use Scrapebox Addon Social Checker.

How do you get all pages for a domain? When doing a regular site: search in Google, one of my competitors has 540 pages indexed. At the same time, OpenSiteExplorer list 4418 pages from his site. I guess you can manually export top pages from OSE as CSV.

Use Ahrefs. You will find your competitors most engagement page. :)

this comment is super biased (I work at Ahrefs) but yeah.. CredibleZephyre did you try our tools? we have so much stuff for competition research that I don't even know where to start :)

I second buzzsumo. Works great for me.

Ahrefs works, majestic: put site at domain level and go to pages. There you'll have the most linked and authoritative pages on the domain. Buzzsumo works wonders too.
