Competitors like YELP / YP

Hi guys,

I usually do my own research, but from time to time I need an opinion

So I have a niche website where I target three keywords - 1st position is taken by various websites depending of the keyword but the second, 3rd, etc. is taken by yelp, yellow pages for every keyword.

I don't know how i should consider my link building strategy as the domain is just one month old and it has content and all it requires - and it's time to start building some links - how do you beat this kind of competitors?

Of course, the results are not from yelp.com; there are some listings ex: yelp.cpm/biz/business name etc

Some advices/suggestions will be truly appreciated.

I am in the same boat, or will be soon.

Will build a review website for businesses of a certain industry. The top Google positions seem to be Yelp reviews for those businesses.

Hoping that being niche-specific will be good enough to outrank Yelp. I will have some other features and a blog etc, but this should be the main cash cow.

Have you learned anything more since you've posted this?

Yes, the hard way...

If the search-term is related to a location or a city/country you will be able to beat other sites with GMB's...otherwise it;s kinda pointless.
