Competitors Database

My website has a rival with 3 years advantage over me and as such, they have a very large database.

I know where this site is hosted, is there a way to fint the config.php file so I have the database user/pass?

There are no funds in this business, I wont be making any monetry advantage from using this information.

Can anyone help?

not as far as I know. especially if they don't have a config.php. They could call a file like this (if they have one) anything they want.

Plus if you load a php file it gets executed. So you wont see any information from the php script unless it is sent to the screen.

A further update:

I have managed to track down where the file is stored (its called db.php) I have managed to get the dbusername, all I need now are the dbpassword and the satabase address.

When I downloaded the db.php file and open it, it says "Hacking attempt"

How can I get round this?

Try opening it with notepad.

I tried that, I also tried opening in Dreamweaver.

Im really getting annoyed as, on paper, finding the db.php should have been the hardest part lol
