Competitors Backlinks

im ranking on one site up to the first page and alot sitting rite under there. i pay for as many backlinks as i can when i can which isnt much. im trying to do anything i can to help my rankings. my onpage is as good as it can be, content or otherwise. the only thing left besides time for domains to age and respect from google is do what your competitors are doing. get their backlinks. im not good with getting backlinks by asking, i cant do that, im not gonna be good at asking other sites for links. but alot of their backlinks are just major sites where you can leave links in a profile, not forums

they have the same backlinks from these sites, theyre backlinks. is it gonna be worth it to go thru all those sites and get a backlink from them, to rank better

Well, I’m guessing they are not contextual, but if they are do-follow and have decent metrics then potentially yes.

But you have to weigh up the cost of acquiring those links relative to their power, compared to the existing link sources you are using.

Number of backlinks isn't as important as the strength behind the backlinks.
If you're buying quantity but they're crap then they're not going to do much.

Get a competitor backlinks report done, @Wolfgar offers such a service. Then go after the quality links your rivals have attained.

they could possibly be nofollow? wouldnt they not even be a backlink then if they were nofollow. the search followed the link and is showing as a backlink

Links are of do follow and no follow; Both are necessary; With Do-follow link juice passed to your link, while no follow no link juice passed.
Competitor analysis is great way to discover best link but keep in mind about the relevancy factor; Suppose you have business of dentist, the you have keyword "best dentist in Los Angeles" then do competitor analysis for this keyword, get all the top websites. Find the links created by them and try to create your business website link, but keep in mind the relevancy.

im saying how does moz or whatever site see your competitors backlinks and show them unless theyre no follow. am i just wrong, it just makes sense to me that its only gonna show me do follow backlinks

You can also try some tools to get competitor backlinks and it can be helpful for you increase your website ranking also

So I was watching this thread, because I found OP's question regarding the no-follow link showing up to be interesting. I was hoping somebody would answer it, since I too would like to know. But since no answer came up I decided to research it myself. So here it goes:

In short: Moz does pick up no-follow links as well. However the data you can see/download only reflects the followed links.

Here are the screenshot of the information I picked up from Moz's own blog. Which lead me to the aforementioned conclusion.







If anybody can shed more light on this issue it would be great.

Sir i thin you just need to buy ahref tool which is the best-paid tool for checking competitor's backlinks or you can check openlinkprofiler.org for free! but if you are still not satisfied then you should hire a SEO expert who can do this thing for you! try to get it from India because they charge less and try to give the best service.

There might still be some adjustments you could make to improve it. Headings can have a substantial impact on your onpage SEO. IIRC, you mentioned those the other day, so it might be worth looking at and experimenting with more.
