Is there a way or tool that can be used to find out the number of hits your competitor is getting. Any tip would be nice.

yeah sites like cubestat can, but they are just estimates and are sometimes pretty far off.

Try Quantcast,Statbrain,Compete and Alexa, but i don't thing you will get correct Traffic stat from this tools.

Use one of the sites suggest above. Alternatively the closest you can get without hacking, is to leave a comment with an image on the front page. Then track how often that image is loaded. Not accurate but will give a reasonable guesstimate of how popular that page is.
