Competitor wants to buy link

Hi! One of my competitors wants to buy a link from my webpage

Offer is good.. but how much will it hurt my site? Some sites say that it is an advantage to link to them

What do you think?

It's 50-50 as long as your content is more valuable you will get more leverage. If there content is good then they get leverage.

There are several other factors but if the offer is good and you think you need that money then you can go ahead with it. Otherwise personally I don't like tagging my competitor with a follow link from my website. If I get rank my buyers can get distracted to my competitor.

They want to pay for a guest post and not a link on any landing pages
 
I'm not knowledgeable on SEO I'm just a noob but why not give it to them and with this money add more to it and invest in superior quality links to your site
 
If you really need the money go for it. But I would not accept linking to their homepage unless they are authority in the niche or far better than your website. It's my opinion.
 
Their budget is much bigger than mine for this niche and they will eventually grow to a higher DR

Money is not needed but it is nice if there are no big losses

there doesnt appear to be much down side to this - unless there posts
takes some of your traffic away........is the offer that good ?

It is double the rate that is normally charged... and we are not talking about a mere 50 vs 100 $

The post will most likely not take traffic away, it is for linkbuilding only

Dont worry much
I wont bother for peanuts hurting my site.
You can get natural rankings back after removing that same link after a while.
 
Think about it. If they have way more budget than you, there's a change you can surpase them in SERPs? If there's no chance, i wouldn't care much about giving them a link. You can use the money to get some links to your site -they will benefit from it aswell- or to invest in other projects.

They are a new player but they are international with a lot more money, right now my rank is better in that country
 
You are giving them the beat link they can ever get. A link from a competitor.

Charge accordingly
