Hi All,

One of our competitor have around 600 words of content appearing after the product listings in the bottom or footer section of their website.

Now when I checked the cached version and choose the text only version, the 600 words of content is appearing above the product listing i.e. in cached version product listing is appearing below the 600 words.

He is showing content in footer after product listings for normal user and the same content above the listings for Google.

Can someone please advice how he is achieving this. Is this a blackhat method. He is already ranking for majority of keywords for past 1 year.

Do you have to hover in order to show this footer list of keywords?
Is it the keyword " Articles " that you have to hover over with a mouse, to show the list of keywords?

No I don't have to hover, the content is appearing for user on bottom of the page and above it there are listings. But For Google content comes above the listing to get the benefit of content in above the fold.

Its not new method its an old method to make the url index in google quick and rank
Its like cheat
google will look for 600 word article and rank the site url acordingly
human user will only look at the product when he or she search google

few years ago we do same method
create more than 10k page site urls and load them with a super spun articles
atleast google index 5000 of pages in google and rank the longtail keywords

Apparently this technique still works...

Could be just a simple script that will place a specific Div above the fold for google bots but leave it in the footer for the rest of the visitors

Yes but I checked their webpage html source code, they are actually placing Div above the fold when i am checking their html source code but when I am checking the page in browser the content is showing in footer.

Do you still have the script or know the way to do this? I d like to try it out

Did u check when the text was cached last ?
It's not about caching the source code is different from what is been served to the user as a webpage. Google is caching it perfectly in the same manner as it is ordered in the html code.

This is an old trick that was used back in 2011 lol. I didn't expected that is still working. And yes, it is a blackhat method. If he is your competitor and you want to rank for the same keyword just whitehat and rely on great long content.

Hi, But it is done using CSS Positioning, will it be considered as Blackhat ?
