Competitor cloaking

Hey guys,

I'm spying on a competitor who seems to successfully cloaks his Google ads without interruption for over 2 years. His white page domain is the same for the entire time which leads me to believe that he didn't get a single ban by google?

Is that even achievable with the standard cloakers like JCI and whatnot, or is there some custom cloaking or even 0day methods involved?

It can be done with standard tools. It can also be its own special software. The important thing is to use a cloaker system with a strong, good filter. In addition, a good advertising account is also important.

Two years without detection is highly unusual and suggests that he might be using advanced
or custom cloaking methods with advanced traffic filtering

Achievable yes, apparently. But with the standard cloakers? There is probably methods out there that noone ever thought of. There is no way they didn't get a single manual review in 2 years. Of course normal crawler traffic is easy to bypass with normal cloakers, the manual reviews will get you sooner or later.

it is possible there are so many people who do google ads cloaking and earns from it. it can be done by tools or with help of insiders.

Yeah it is defiantly a possibility and is something that is seen pretty commonly now a days.

What do you mean by standard cloakers? Far as I know they're all different?

They probably using some advanced config, very well tuned. Maybe detecting proxies and geolocations and so on

Correct me if I'm wrong but there is only so much a cloaker can do, a cloaker can only work with the information a user sends to the website when trying to access it. And that information is always the same.

I think what really makes a good cloaker is the filtration of (in that case) google employees for manual reviews.

And who knows if there is information out there that is getting used for that. Exact location of all google offices for example, always up to date IP addresses, I know cloakers like JCI keep updating their IP lists but image you have access to always up to date ips!

All I'm saying is that I doubt that guy kept the website alive for so long with just the standard tools, and btw. That's not the only website he has. There is 3 other ones also alive for up to a year already.

Two years is wild – maybe he's found a sweet spot with super specific targeting or the Google bot just hasn't caught on yet.
