Competitor buying fake google reviews

Offer something free to your clients (maybe drinks or local traditional food that won't cost much) in exchange for a review. Those will be genuine reviews and will help you boost your rankings.

Remember that most of the satisfied clients won't bother to leave a review, so you must remind them in a nice way.

Why not just print a flyer out and tape it to all the tables.

"Interested in getting 10% off your meal? Please visit our google listing on maps and leave an honest review. Show your waiter before you pay."

There are endless amounts of things you can do to drive real reviews faster than how you are currently doing it, just think outside the box.

Every takeout order gets a flyer "Did you enjoy your food today? Take a moment to fill out an honest review..."

Are you collecting phone numbers before they get seated, or for reservations? - "You're table is ready! Come back and be sure to speak to our host about how you can save 10% off your meal today!"

To me if you are faking SEO in a positive way, it impacts your competitor automatically in a negative way (the guy who’s son has cancer), considering the competitor is playing by the rules and you’re stealing customer from him.

I thought it was clear though that I don’t have any problem with my own SEO and happy with my business. I am just frustrated by cheating people and the fact they can’t be stopped except by cheating too.

The feeling of injustice remains though.

You're not starting an argument by replying nor was I inviting one with my opinions. Its all good lol Just people sharing their opinions, why you posted here right?

To be clear the moral aspect is an issue however not the issue that is most important which is you could end up creating far more problems for yourself legally by doing what you suggested. You say you are the one who has done nothing but I put it to you that you are. Again I suspect you have ZERO proof that this person is doing what you are suggesting, just your opinion. So all I see here is someone not happy they are falling behind and asking about nefarious methods to attack this business to implement some sort of weird justice (justice that is due based on your pinion) not on facts, proof, evidence, whatever you want to call it. So again I think you are the one who is in the wrong and who is acting inappropriately. I'm sure you wont see it that way but based on what I read above that is what I see.

I don't agree with the statement that working on SEO is actively something that negatively affects competitors. It's called marking and being proactive. The Things that smart business owners do instead of getting mixed up in immoral/illegal activities. It's funny how in your country asking for a review is not something socially acceptable but asking about negative SEO and slandering competitors is OK?

There have been some great suggestions above on how to increase the number of reviews you get. if you don't ask you don't get, it's called a "call to action". The fact is if you asked you would get ten times more reviews but if you don't want to that's fine, just don't bitch when other businesses do. I bet there are far better and more productive things for you to be doing for your business than even entertaining this. Glad to see you are going to refrain from doing it. If you can't beat them, join them. Simply buy yourself some 5-star reviews.

Being on this forum you should avoid being scared of competition, do what they are doing in a better way. Outrank them things will be easy for you.

Just report the fake looking ones. Less time consumed

Just focus on getting more reviews from your own customers, not hard at all if you start asking.

"Thanks for visiting us today, if you felt we provided you with a good service/food, please consider leaving us a review! It will help us greatly!"

Put a childly-innocent-happy face and most will do it right away.

Buying wholesale cans of coke wouldn't cost much. Less than $1 per can. The cost of buying reviews - $2.50 - $5 per review.

Google now removes fake reviews from GMB. So please keep cool, when google can see the owner take fake google reviews too many times google take this business rank to be down. So stay away.
