Competitor Analysis

(Green - my website, Red - SERP top1 competitor)

Hello everyone!

My page (homepage) is finally getting the top 2/3 spots. I am wondering how far we are to start competing for top 1 spots.
Our page has the most quality content. However, the niche is so small that we can't produce more content on subpages. The most important is ranking the homepage on the main keywords (directory/listing related, gaming niche, navigational intent).

Questions:
1. What would you focus on to get this candy-sweet top1 SERP spot?
2. If we should get more quality backlinks - would you recommend anyone on this forum? (We are in the gaming niche)

Additional info:
The top1 competitor in SERPs that has ALL top1 positions doesn't even support mobile AT ALL.

I would love to see some good takes!

well, your competitor is having you beat at all of the important metrics, you're not even close to taking that spot from them anytime soon based on these metrics

You've not posted 1 very important metric, however: the Referring Domains (RDs). RDs are much more important than 1000s upon 1000s of backlinks, and if your competitor is having even fewer RDs than you but of high quality / relevancy to this niche you're not going to outrank them until you get at least close to the same number and quality of RDs that they're having. That's one thing...

The second thing, maybe your competitor has been way longer than you in this niche and google recognize his authority and they trust him more than you. And if that's the case, unless you spend years in this niche and are proactively drawing visitors to your site from all sorts of sources (youtube, social media, gaming forums, reddit, etc) for google to see that your site is also popular and trustworthy you will probably not outrank your competitor.

Third thing, does you competitor have any interactive stuff going on, on their homepage that you could replicate to increase your visitors' dwell time and lower the bounce rate of your visitors? This might not be a big deal, but it could prove to be one of those little things that you just have to do to stay up top.

We are not even close to other competitors, and we are still above them. Also, different SEO tools give us different metrics where sometimes we are higher and sometimes lower in different metrics.

11 years - however, spot 3 and spot 4 are there also for pretty long, and we are above them (our website is 6/7 months old).

Not really. He has only a list of websites. There is no h1, no paragraphs, just a list...

Why not spy your competitor's backlink profile and filter out the high PA/DA links? And then try to acquire the backlinks from the same domains. This way you'll have more chances to outrank him.

I think niche relevant backlinks will do the work. Spy on your competitor and try to replicate or enhance the backlinks profile, and leave it rest on google.
