I don't know how to study the competition I mean... how can I know if I can to beat the competition in google serp?

When the keywords are finalized for your website then check monthly/global searches and competition in google adward keyword research tool then work according then find out the competitors in google.

Thanks guys but the problem is not how to find a keyword. The real thing is if I want to get into an niche with medium competition. I mean... how can I know how many months will get to be on page 1 or top 3?
I want to get into a medium competition and I want to know if I can beat them.

It depends on how much time you invest.

If you will work on your site SEO every day 3-4 hours so probably you will get to the TOP10 much faster then working 1-2 hours a week

In SEO there is no such thing as "how much time it will take", its a huge world with thousands of different parameters that affect your rank in big/medium niches.

You can be in a niche with medium competition if you're new, but make user to only go after easy to rank for keywords, until you become (much) more experienced.
