Competeing with google search

lets say my website is named "cat dot com"
and someone googles "shoes"
Is it possible to make my website show up before them in a google seach with some ad?
Like, I have a website and there are 4 similar websites but with different names. (everyone knows the names for the other ones so they just google their site if they want to go there)
I want my site to be the first one they see even i they google the other site.
Could it be possible?

im not sure how to do this, never done this before. Is there like an option if they google a word to make my page show up? can i choose the words they google?

Yes you can set keywords and audiences. Go to ads.google.com to start reading
