[COMPARISON] Rank Math vs Yoast

Been watching this guy (Darrel Wilson) video´s on YouTube for quite some time.

I love his tutorials and overall content on his channel. And even tho i understand some of his advice might be considered bias due to promoting products with affiliate programs. On this occasion, i don´t think is the case.

Why?

Because He´s comparing 2 FREE plugins!

I´ve also seen many threads here comparing many SEO plugins for WordPress but i though on sharing his latest video on the topic where he compares Yoast vs RankMath and gives his own personal opinion on the matter.



What are your thoughts?

Feature-wise, RankMath is better. If you want to keep up with Google's latest guidelines and recommendations, Yoast SEO. They're the fastest to adopt any new changes, guidelines and improvements that Google sets.

For example, RankMath still does not have the FAQ and How-To schema, which Google started adopting a few months ago. Yoast SEO was the first to add it.

I just switched to RankMath from Yoast SEO on my sites about a month or so ago because I do ecommerce and it has more relevant features such as stripping product/category slugs from woocommerce URLS. This allowed me to uninstall a different plugin I was using for the same purpose. (less plugins is better)
This feature is very important, yet Yoast fails to include it.
I truly like the plugin, but have noticed it has some problems with directing links...
Occasionally while changing settings in the module, it will 404 every page on the frontend, or sometimes the sitemap.
As mentioned, this only happens while editing the module setting itself, but I am mentioning it so anybody using it can benefit from my experience.
Took me a couple hours to realize why my sitemap was 404'ing, lol.
Just had to click save settings on the sitemap section again.

Another problem is the meta descriptions after importing....Yoast is smart enough to grab a full meta description, as where RankMath just takes the first sentence, no matter how short it is and sets that as meta description, even if it is only 3 or 4 words. This was a problem on some of my products, and I now have to manually add meta descriptions to every product on my website. It can import them from Yoast, but if you didn't have them set, then in some cases, you're stuck with a long setup time.

TLRD, RankMath is fantastic....but it still has some bugs.

Stick to the OG Yoast and you will be fine.
