i see a lot of threads in this section asking what's the best language to program xyz in. i just stumbled across this link and found it incredibly useful for getting a quick impression of which programming languages are best suited for doing certain tasks, and what languages are most similar to other languages. everything's laid out in a nice concise bullet-point-like fashion.
