Common Mistakes in Tiered Linking

During link building i just think that Links are links. If you waste time in finding the quality or some other process then you are just wasting your time. Instead of doing this you should just continue building links to your website. that's the main thing.

...Speechless...

You heard it here first, folks: finding quality links is a waste of time; any ol' link will do. Case closed, lol.

Thanks for the informative post, I have been trying to find tier 1 sites I can link my money site to. I am mostly doing web 2.0 and bookmarks...for now on i will only place one link on the page for for "juice"

That thread is from 2008 and I find it difficult to believe that there is anything in that thread that is going to be useful today, except as a historical perspective on "how things used to be".
The OP's diagram has the loop closing back onto itself and that invalidates the juice of the entire structure. This is why link wheels are no longer useful, and the current architecture is a pyramid.

op's post, as i said is not the reason i linked that post
olden's relation to trophaeum has nothing to do with the quality of the information he was providing
the information he provided in that thread is still as accurate today as it was then
that's the thing about math, it stays the same
and when google is trying to hunt down networks, reading a bit of information about how graphing theory can be used to cloak your network would probably do you a bit of good

(yes the op's post was worthless unless you use it as a example of what not to do, but just like this thread, a mislead op sometimes brings good information to light from the more educated members)

Again with the wrongness. No one said quality links are a waste of time. It's not an either/or situation; A) either you should have only high quality backlinks or B) you should throw any links directly at your site without regard to quality, the over-riding point (that no one is going to disagree with) is that the link profile needs to look natural; a mixture of all different kinds & qualities of backlinks. The previously mentioned framework structured around backlink juice being either "direct" or "indirect" was wrong, and the notion that the two sides of this discussion are that backlinks must be either high quality, or quality doesn't matter is also wrong.

One sideline in this discussions stems from the OP's assertion that high-quality bacllinks in a single-tier architecture is (apparantly) adequate (or optimum, I dunno) for achieving rank, when conventional wisdom is that this model is only one component of the overall structure, and that multi-tiers using low-quality backlinks (for several reasons) that leave a natural-appearing footprint is best for the overall structure of the off-site SEO.

I guess you are open to have your own interpetation, but I have to say it sounded like that's pretty much what the post Blixx quoted was saying... (try taking a look at the part that is bolded and underlined...)

How about instead you put some effort into supporting your own position in the discussion instead of trying to get someone else to do the work of figuring out what your point is, so that they can post that point, so that they can then show you how wrong you are? Honestly, it's like someone gave Mrs. Henderson's entire 3rd grade class a 24-pack of mountain dew, and if you kids don't start paying attention and focusing, I'm going to break-out the IV bottles, and set you all up on a Ritilin/Adderall drip.

Trying to figure out what my point is? Are you even reading the posts you're responding to?

BLIXX quoted futurestic06 saying "trying to build quality links is a waste of time" and pointed out that it didn't make sense. You then quoted BLIXX and responded by angrily saying "Nobody is saying that!" Which is ridiculous if you read the post you're responding to.

I'm honestly not trying to pick a fight, but you've basically proven my point with this post - and that is that you seem to be attacking people with or without reason. When you do that you lose credibility whether you're right or not. Seriously, someone says ONE THING you don't like and suddenly they're in chugging mountain dew and need adderall? Don't think I'm the one acting like a third grader here...

Here's what futurestic actually said.

During link building i just think that Links are links. If you waste time in finding the quality or some other process then you are just wasting your time. Instead of doing this you should just continue building links to your website. that's the main thing.

Here's your failure to accurately characterize those remarks:

Here's my statement to you, which I reiterate:

How about instead you put some effort into supporting your own position in the discussion instead of trying to get someone else to do the work of figuring out what your point is, so that they can post that point, so that they can then show you how wrong you are? Honestly, it's like someone gave Mrs. Henderson's entire 3rd grade class a 24-pack of mountain dew, and if you kids don't start paying attention and focusing, I'm going to break-out the IV bottles, and set you all up on a Ritilin/Adderall drip.

Lets say you build 100 web 2.0 properties with 2 links to money site and 5 or to internal links (sidewidgets/site wide pages).

and then you build 100 more web 2.0 as tier 2 and 1000 article directories and 1K wiki pages and 1k social media links.

Are you saying posting those tier 2 with 100k spam links via Xrumer/SB is a waste of time?

.... Maybe you are the one that is mistaken!

Don't bother, my dude. Nigel is on his own ride. He seems so concerned about being 'right' that he can't see or think straight.

Well many are concentrating building links with their main keywords all the time and even to their tier 2 links, And it looks suspicious to google and it's obvious. . Do 40-50% links to the main keywords and always try to use secondary keywords a lot. .

If you can't find secondary keywords, Take the google suggestions, You can easily get it from ubersuggest.com and build links. . It looks natural links to the google and it has some value. . I do build links like that. . Thank you

I wouldn't say it's a waste of time, because that implies that you'll see no value. I think you will definitely see value and ranking improvements from using this strategy. You are using tier 2 as a mixture of indexing/value and tier 3 purely for indexing, it's a solid tiered strategy.

I would say there's a more effective way of doing this. For example, I wouldn't build the 100 web 2.0 properties as tier 2, I would build those directly to the money site.
