Many state that Commission junction or cj is one of the most well known companies on the market. Many can make good money from promoting their offers on websites. Are they as good as people say?

They are as good as you let them be. You have to drive targeted traffic to your sites and have your sites set up in a way that causes your visitors to want to click on the CJ links.

They do have a huge variety of advertisers and they do pay in a timely manner.

Some things to keep in mind about CJ:

1) They will deactivate your account if you haven't made any money in awhile (read their TOS for exact figures). If you have an unpaid balance during the inactive period (e.g., because your balance is less than the minimum payout), they will deduct a fee every month until the balance is zero.

2) $50 minimum payout

3) It's easy to get approved by CJ, but you then need to get approved for many of the merchants that you'll want to promote, as approvals are not automatic for every merchant. If the site that you listed on your application is not in the same niche as the merchant to whose program you're applying, you can expect to get rejected.

With CJ, it's better to get traffic first from sites in the niches that you want earn commissions from, and then apply to CJ and individual merchants. Then you can start earning as soon as you put the links up, as opposed to starting from scratch and running the risk of not making any money before they shut you down.
