So I thought I knew everything about Youtube and Adsense but coming here I have seen a whole lot of new things people focus on to get ranked in Youtube.

What is the relevance of " Comment Rating " ?? Is this when someone thumbs up or down your comment and it makes it to the top of that videos comment page? Why does this matter if its not your video? Does it mean people are more likely to click your name and visit your channel = more views for you?

Thanks in advance everyone.

Comment ranking is a way of advertising what ever you wish to advertise through a youtube comment. When you thumbs up a comment on a video getting high amounts of views, you can get hundreds if not thousands of people to read your comment.

So if you put " Website link here xxxxxxx " and get it thumbed up say, 100 times...people will visit that website? Really?! I usually ignore all of these comments when I see them.

I'm shocked that this tactic works. I would have thought it would have you flagged instantly and people would be angry and spam dislike your videos on your own channel or something. Or even click bomb you.

I suppose it works better for your own website, rather than your own Youtube channe?

Thanks for the reply FearedPixel.

firstly, you wouldn't need 100 thumbs up, just enough to get top comment. Secondly, theres lots of sneaky ways to advertise videos, youtube channels, and or websites. For example, people advertise their channels by saying something like: Ray william johnson and "their youtube channel" are my favorite video makers. If you put this comment on a ray william johnson video and thumbsed it up, people that liked rays videos would most likely go check out the other persons channel that you mentioned. Its a pretty decent way to advertise a channel, or video without making it obvious that you're advertising.
