How to gain real comment karma on reddit quickly and safely? Any tips and tricks?

You can go to relatively popular subreddits, find posts that are new, and comment something funny/insightful (depending on the sub). If the post blows up on that sub, typically the first few comments get a good amount of likes.

You only need to write on new entries! Where there aren't hundreds of comments
