I started blogging today and was wondering if comment for comment method still works, is there risk of my blog from being banned or something? If yes how many comments should I ask in 1 day to people

No, there is no risk involved of getting banned and yes, this old-school method still works.

Comment for comment is still just as effective as it's always been. It won’t lead to you getting any penalties, so feel free to use it.

1) It still works

2) You should ask for as many comments you can get since most people won't comment - factor this in.
