Good day fellow Blackhat members !

have a question here , I am looking to write an EBook , for example if it's about sales.

will i infringe any copyright laws or get into trouble with any law at all if I read books various sales books and articles and use the "techniques" or concept of selling mentioned inside the book to write my own book ?

i will not rewrite the books, I will write it base off my understanding or my memory From the articles and books.

is it okay ?

If you're sharing a technique that the author came up with, then that is infringing his/her copyright. If it's just that you're talking about general knowledge stuff that can be found anywhere else, then you're not. Whether or not you would get away with it is a different question that has more to do with how many sales you actually generate with this ebook/how much attention you attract.

Most of the 'sales techniques' mentioned in modern day ebooks are the ones that were 'invented' or first published in books that came out at the turn of the 20th century. A technique is just that, it's a way of going about something. It's the way you say it that counts. Just a side comment that's related, if you are merely recapping what others have said about the same content, not really adding anything original to it, then you are not doing a service to the reader. And, as a result you won't earn much.

If you are writing the eBook by yourself and you have real mind with ambitious approach then "infringement" word is NOT for you. Keep Working!

If you're going to mention the techniques that you've read then I suggest you also mention the author and the book where you got that technique. I don't think you'll get any copyright infringement if you will quote the respective authors. Just don't own it. You can say the word "According to (the author) then the technique". By referencing, you are basically promoting their works so that would be cool.

I don't think you'd get in trouble if you cite your sources properly. As long as you don't claim the techniques as your own, you don't have anything to worry about.

Like kalios pointed out, it is not enough to restate what many others already said. Offer something new to readers. Your target audience may have read the same books you read, and they'd be disappointed to find nothing new on your eBook.

Yes this is fine. YOu are doing your research, just make it all yours and you will be fine.

If you use any content or suggestions from anything you read you have to cite your sources but if you come up with your own content and suggestions you wont have to worry about doing anything illegal.

Yes I agree that citing your sources is always a good idea. Just never copy anything word for word unless you are quoting something.

I think that it will be fine as long as you are not solely coping it. Just doing it from memory should be ok.
