ComfyUI as a hireable skill

Thought people might find this interesting here.

We have hired 3 full-time ComfyUI AI artists in the last few months to work on our projects and it looks like we'll be hiring more over the next 6 months. This isn't that easy of a skill to find out there.

We are mainly hiring through Reddit posts, the ComfyUI discord and now referrals.

Lots of people in our industry are doing the same at the moment, ComfyUI is becoming a super valuable skill for generative video/image AI so if you're looking for a skill to learn, could be a good one for the future.

Artists you calling them now? lol i generate images with ai, (not fake ass ewhoring images), and you're not an artist, till your pen hits the canvas in a editing program. The "skill" you mention is having a subscription, which is probably priced to suit westerners and not poorer countries, and a prompt.

TLDR
I remember back in my day people HAD skills. Nowadays its a few bucks and a prompt supposedly ;)

Interesting. I’m seeing ComfyUI mentioned more and more lately.
Out of curiosity, is the bigger bottleneck prompt creativity or actually understanding the node workflows and pipelines?
 
Ive seen those kind of ads on Reddit . Move with speed it’s only a matter of time before half of India knows comfyui

These aren't basic subscriptions to ready-to-use generative AI platforms, they are extremely complex workflows involving many elements. I agree they are more "developers" than "designers"

But the complexity in ComfyUI requires skills

It really depends on what exactly you are trying to make. AI is still a bit of a slot machine, need to try multiple times usually to get exactly what you want, use multiple tools to clean it up etc.

We have lots of Indians apply, they all share the same "portfolio" and are quite obviously unskilled when given any kind of actual generative task as a test

Agreed. With the rise of AI we baptize it as a "graphic design skill". Lol. Canva's learning curve is steep though!
 
Really interesting to see ComfyUI being treated as a real job skill now the fact that people are hiring full time AI artists specifically for workflow/node expertise shows it’s not just click and generate, but a technical skill that’s in demand

It’s very technical. I haven’t really gotten the hang of it yet because there’s so much you can do and ChatGPT has been useless because everything changes so fast and it’s relatively new
 
comfyui is high demand right now cuz it gives way more control than midjourney, definitely a top skill for 2026.

thats a solid tip, comfyui definitely has a steeper learning curve than most tools so it makes sense the demand is high. honestly if you can master those workflows you’re basically set for the next few years in the ai space.
