Here ya go. Works like a charm with Comcast as long as you were assigned a dynamic ip...

hxxp://www.you*tu*be.com/watch?v=8qe6cABJ7OI

change x's to t's and delete *'s

The only step the video leaves out is rebooting the cable modem after you change the MAC address. It's not necessary to reboot the router, just the modem.

yea i did that got a new ip different sub id and all still unable to connect to all the sites

You sure it's your IP? Clear your cookies and local DNS cache. I can't believe there's that many websites blocking an entire range of IP's.

yep clear cookies. dns cache shouldnt matter but to clear it from cmd: ipconfig/flushdns

Alright, so i finally go this thing to work w/ my d-link router and have comcast assign me a new IP whenever I want.

Does this mean it doesn't matter what sites ban me or have a limit per IP because I could just have comcast generate me a new IP or is there something I'm missing here?

pretty much, just don't do too bad of illegal stuff because all these ips are still assigned to your comcast account. ;)

I have changed my IP address several times with Com*cast and using my Link*sys router. Wasn't easy to figure out, but heading over the the http://www.pay-per-install.org forum will get you going in the right direction.

that sounds like some BS to me..
you haven't done anything to be blocked from those sites have you?
maybe you should just change ISPs..
lol wouldn't that be a good solution?
:) hope you get your issues solved, pal.

Man, sorry to hear that man. I have Comcast too (unfortunately it is the only high speed option in my area) and I lose connection every damn Saturday. They need to stop allowing these area-based monopolies.

I have Time-Warner and in spite of what some say about it, I have ZERO glitches, 99.9999999999999999999999999999999999% uptime and speed from Hell.

And they are really nice to me if I run short and can't pay the bill for a week or so.

One thing to be careful of, however, when you are doing this is Comcast may reassign you an ip you were using just a few hours, days or weeks prior. In other words, they are assigning you a different ip but not a brand new one each time you change your mac address. I catch this happening all the time.

thanks for the info... do you have any info on how many unique ip's comcast has assigned you?

I'm sure it's in the dozens or more. I rotate my ip a couple times a day. But I have been assigned the same ip w/in a few days before, also. Who knows, maybe even sooner. I just happened to catch it while reviewing some statcounter stat details for one of my sites I had been visiting.

Tell them you want to cancel, don't accept the first "adjusted " rate, they will give you a 2nd better one, pay 50% for crappy service instead ( I do this every 6 months with them)

I have never had any problems rotating my IP with Comcast (not that they don't suck), but I wish FioS was in my area. I also use sprint vision tethered to my computer, which rotates IPs every time I log on.

Well I just got a temp kick from Cox cable due to downloading "Generation Kill" from e*ztv. So watch out for those tv show trackers! Damn I have downloaded so SO many things and I got nicked by a tv show..

Wish I could find that damn tracker. :X

Stay away from HBHOE.. Whats screwed up is I have HBO for cable!! Maybe I will just have to cancel HBO..

The paper todays has an article about comcast limiting residential users to 250GB of bandwidth per month.

I thought part of the FTC ruling against comcast was that they couldn't such such things.

When the company realizes that saying it's comcastic means things are really shitty and are getting worse I wonder what they'll come up with.

Try using peer guardian in the future. There's a possibility it would have blocked hbo trackers from getting your ip and sending cox some legal bs to get you taken offline.
