Combining 2 PHP scripts into one

I have 2 php scripts that do vastly different things so basically script 1 does A,B,C and script 2 does D,E,F
My question is how hard would it be to take functionality D from script 2 and add it to script 1 seeing as there is an already functioning code in script 2.
I need to hire a developer and am asking to get a better feel at how big of a job this is , how hard it is and what the estimated price would be.
