.com VS .us ! Which is supported more by Google keeping other factors constant

I am trying to know the Google algorithm for domains. Keeping SEO and public search (as it is said .com is what people type in directly) aside if i am targeting US market in any way, will Google algorithm support .us more than .com?
Wondering how will Google act keeping other factors aside

.com obviously. .com>.net>.org for the main TLDs

Yes. I recently read a study where the top US Internet Marketers from the major agencies were quizzed to see who was the biggest.... whizz, I guess. The real answer for this one was that for SEO purposes it's "neither" in terms of if you don't want to monetise the website. However that said most people will try .com, followed by their ccTLD, before actually Googling it. Even delicious made the switch from .us to .com.
