.com site outranked country domain

For recent 6 months, I realised international .com domain has started to appear in search. For example before this, Google only list websites in my country for a keyword A. But after February or later, it started to shows more result from international targeted websites. Any specific updates to this local search?

This could be due to their spam updates to push low authority sites out of SERPs.

Countries TLD domains do have a better advantage but that doesn't necessarily mean they're guaranteed to outrank other TLDs
