My advice is stay away from 1and1 unless you use fake info (especially throw away billing) and don't use for any domains you plan to keep for years. They're notorious for holding domains, unapproved rebills, and harassing customers that want to just let the domain expire.

I registred one domain with 1and1 and instead of sending me my domain name infos,login and etc , they keep asking for my id as a proof that i'am the owner of this domain , i finished by forgettin even the domain name i registred with them,they just sucks !

This guy just shared something that he tought its awesome (a company offering 1$ domains is something awesome,expet if it's 1and1
).Maybe he didn't knew,they are not so good providers,but they aren't scammers either.I got a 1$ domain from them a year ago,and just let it expire.I had problems like the dns not updating,but beside that,everything was well.I guess you should learn more english,as you don't seem to know what a scam means.Chherz

guys, those bad things you heard from 1&1 is false. I have been using them for more then a year now and I have no issues.
Your customer id and all the info you need is given to you via email. Just don't delete it or remember your id.
I've called customer support before, no issues. They were very nice and helpful. I only buy their domains cause its so cheap. I have 5 domains with them. You can set "auto renew" for each one if you want to be charged each year. If you don't want a domain, uncheck the renew.
Their back end is super organized. Sorry, but even though everyone is against them, I need to defend them a bit here cause I see nothing wrong with them.

the most problems happens with you and 1and1 is, you do not read their fine prints.
for me, i got billed 3 times for my 6 domains there.. it happened because, internal transfer is treated as outside transfer and you have to pay transfer charge.. so i was transferring domains to my other accounts in 1and1 and got billed later..
i then transferred the domains to another registrar.. then later got invoices for my internal transfers later.. paid some and cancelled all packages..
I now have another problem with 1and1. have two domains now, newly registered.... but payment was rejected because of CC problem..
