com domains only 0.99$

Unfortunatelly, i didn't see this thread and i bought one domain at 1and1.
reading this what you guys wrote i want to cancel my account right away altgough 1and1 didn't aprove my account yet.
Since they still didn't aprove my account and the domain I bought is still available on other domain registers, what would heppen if i buy the same domain on other domain register. In that case, would my domain be registered at that other domain register instead of 1and1 ?

ok , i called them today to see why i didn't get any confirmation or information , they told me the domain didn't got through and i should order it again .

i'll not take this action again , it's SHIT
 
Wow, I can't believe the amount of people they've done wrong in one forum. Pretty amazing. Thanks @aasas for sharing this thread. Saved me a lot of headaches I could only imagine.
 
They have a large client base. They are a scam? Damn I bought like 15 domains today...
 
I tried this mob before, no problem with domains at point of registration, point of transfer maor problems and the costs to renew was a joke.

Hosting got hacked by someone in server and script copied, they were very unhelpful on this also.

Tried to delay my transfer off and tried to claim extra months payment.

Pain and more pain.
 
i wanted to buy some cheap dollar domains but after reading this thread and googling 1&1 reviews, i decided to hangoff untill some godaddy special comes around

Be patient it takes within 24 hours.

I have been using them for years now and I never had a problem yet. I have the free hosting with them for 1 year as well and I never have a problem.

I cant understand how so many people here are having problems

Last year, I registered 7 domains with them for free using various accounts.
From my opinion, they are bad, but not that bad.

I got billed twice or unwanted amounts because of my carelessness.
Its because, for their internal transfer, we have to pay!!

I successfuly transferred many domains from them, also cancelled packages without any problems.

The thing is, you will get billed around on your 6-8 month time. So make sure to transfer the domains after 2-3 months also dont forget to cancel the package by going to cancel.1and1.com url.

Many people says and also 1and1 says the transfer domain option is in the cancel.1and1.com page. But I tell you, dont go there..

First, Unlock your domain, remove whois.
Then get the Auth code..
Initiate transfer from your other provider and give Auth code.

It will take around 7 days for a successful transfer. When you see the transfer is success and the domain is in your other registrar, go to cancel.1and1.com and cancel the package.

Never do an internal transfer of the domains to your other accounts in 1and1. Because it will be billed.

Btw, I have sold the 7 domains I registered with them last year totaling for a profit of around 500 dollar.
 
Wow ! this is the first time I heard about register billing users for pushing domains. :( I have used Godaddy for over 7 years now and never had a problem.
 
I lost over 40 domains screwing around with 1n'1 a few years ago- and NEVER again. They lock up your domains and send their in-house "collection agency" after you. They are totally unreasonable. I got hooked on the low cost registration and went crazy with them. It's better in the long run to pay one of the other more respected registrants. I've been a little netfirms happy as of late at $4.95 each with free privacy

Similar exp. i was paying monthly for a small hosting packagae. I decided to upgrade and they tried totake a whole years hosting in one payment. i disputed that i wanted topay monthly. They said no. I said then I want to return to my previous hosting. They said no and sent their collection agency. Domain is locked and cant transfer it. What sucks is that this domain is for my translation website, which is how i pay my bills/house/etc.

Hostgator is pretty bad but 1n1 is total crap.
 
vulzala, did you tried an internal transfer?
maybe the domain can be able to transfer to another 1and1 account, then transfer from there?
