.COM domain versus a .NET domain name

Ok.....now i'm more confused than ever. Lol!

IMO .com is favorably preferred in organic search. People have a good impression on .com
However in SEO term, many factors affect the rank. I think you should focus more on your domain rather than .com or .net.
It doesn't add much to the case.
