I have recently come into possession of 30 russian gold coins.

They are during the Nicholas II era and all are "5 rouble" coins.

    3 coins are 1897
    14 coins 1898
    3 coins 1899
    5 coins 1900
    5 coins 1901

    httpx//kopek.ws/gal/n2/

It is the third from bottom coin.

I was thinking of the best way to sell them, and what better place than BHW to talk about it.

I have received a price of £2,500 for all of them from:
    httpx//www.taxfreegold.co.uk/postinggoldcoinstous.html

That was priced with each one being worth around £84 each.
This evidently means I can sell them for much more in single or in bulk but not all at once.

Having a quick look at ebay they sell for much more anyway:
    httpx//shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=russian+gold+coin

I was thinking the best place to sell them would be at auctions, antique dealers + collectors, coin collectors, amazon + ebay
Does anyone else have a suggestion about what I should do with these? I am even willing to sell them on to another member for the right price.

I am going to do a test on 1 by uploading 1 on ebay and 1 on amazon and will tell you how well it goes also.

you could run a contest by getting them to fill in a CPA offer to be in a draw for 1 of them

I think you would get a better answer @ a metal detecting forum. They are around I've been to them. The users find some pretty nifty things plus they are devoted. Go visit one of their forums, I bet you will get great advice. Tell them you found the items someone might try to buy them.

Well.....I happen to collect old gold coins myself..The best way to get rid of them would be on ebay..List each one individually. That way you will get the most for them..Make sure you do some research though to see how much each one is supposed to weigh. One way to tell if a coin is authentic or not is by checking the weight. Also make sure you take good pictures of the coins for auction. Condition is everything with gold coins. If in good shape they should go for much more than "melt" value.

There you go ..input from a gold coin collector and metal detecting pro..on the BHW forum ..who would have thought??
