Collecting E-mail address and marketing?

Have any of you guys ever tried this. Such as collecting e-mail address through social networks. Then marketing to them. Does it work?

The Ideas is good but, I never had a good experience with email marketing as you never know what the person is interested in to whom you are sending e-mails.

Especially trying to get them inboxed. I heard Gmail is the best way to get through.
 
I was actually considering this method -- I came across a program that'd harvest emails from FB etc. but it costs $50/month...

There's also the scalability obstacle
 
I use social email extractor works like a charm even though it's a little expensive but it gets the info you need. Know any 1 know a mass email I cent just type and send?
 
Another question, how to prevent harvested e mail from going into spambox? I use instant lead magnet, but most e mail i believe is marked as spam. Must I create 1000 gmail accs?
 
This is a small of bulding list, and certainly it's working
 
It is a good idea but it takes a lot of time to do it manually.
