Cold selling SEO services through email

Hey guys,

I'm trying to sell SEO services in a country where people have no idea what it is. But this is good, because it's really easy to bring clients website to the first page.

What I've been until now is searching a generic term like: "leather wallets". getting into some adwords ads from small companies and grabbing an email in their website to offer my service.


I write something like this:

dear mr. businessman/manager/whatever,

I have a webmarketing consulting firm, and we help comapanies to rank better in google, generating free publicity and showing your business to potential clientes.
I've seen an Adwords ad of your company in google, and analyzing your website, we've found that we could improve it and promote it to get better rankings.

I believe you'd be interested in improving the ranking of your websites, generating free publicity for your the company.

I think that maybe through phone I can get better results, but didn't try it yet..

The power of numbers my friend, the more people you contact the more people you will reach that might turn into clients!

I think the sales letter is good. Just now focus on success and don't look back

2. Selling through email isn't easy. Business owners get pummeled day and night by service providers just like you. If you're set on trying it you should plan a series of emails instead of a "one and done" approach. A better idea would be to make personal contact with your prospects.

Besides this an easier way to get them to meat you is tell all your friends that you will pay them a % of the money you make if they get customers to you.
If you are refered by others your ods will increase.

But it was just a scrap translation.. but I'm revising the copy all the time.. it's just the start..

I'm gonna implement the series of emails idea..

i received an email like this a couple months ago. i replied to it with my business info and never heard anything back. so i wonder how many others they ignored?

Hello friend,

not to be negative but I agree that it is not a good idea..

There are many obstacles for this to work:
- this is spamming
- some of your emails will go into the junk folder
- the conversion rate should be very low since it shows you are a beginner
- seems like you don't really have a good list of emails to begin with..

I encourage you to look for something else.
But hey this is only me, it does not mean I am 100% right

People get emails like this every week, I'd say most delete without reading. Espcially if you are using a free email account and not a domain address (not saying you are, but most do).

Waste of time, better ringing them

Dude, you have to grab their attention with the headline. Use a motivator like fear or greed, something like:

Get More Sales, 30 Day Guarantee. Here's How...

or

[Competitor's Name] Is Rising on Google Searches. Decision Time: Compete or Quit?

Anyway, those may suck, I dunno. I'm just getting started in this myself. There's a lot of good copywriting info on warrior forum and on random blogs.
