I tried this on friday with a potential client, even though he is based in the same city. will report back as soon as I know the results. but it should definitely be possible.

Yes it is. Callcenters do this all the time. Will it work for you? Only one way to find out: Take action instead of asking on this forum. Good luck

hey mate this indeed works you need to be confident in what your doing and you will be good to go its not always necessary only face-to-face thingy works.give it a try there are many cold-calling scripts available too maybe you should look over to them as an example.

    yeah but its fucking hard.

They say in AVERAGE 1 in 400 calls is a close for a newbie.

I think being a telemarketer is a really good skill to have.

Direct mail, if well done, is more efficient. I have a WSO (possibly from BHW) that shows a cover page "The truth about theirwebsite.com" with a 2nd page marked up regarding the site's place on Google Places.

I think four key areas for a mailing are:

    1. Their site is unreadable on a mobile device.
    2. They aren't in the first 10 places for a Google search.
    3. They haven't claimed their Google Places (It will have a statement "Edit this page.
    Are you the owner?")
    4. They have a Wordpress site, and it's easily hacked. You want from BHW "Bulletproof" and WP Locktight.

I think the mobile mailing is the easiest. Go to dudamobile dot com. It takes 15 seconds to convert a site. Add a button for the phone and a button for the address. You'll be sent an unbranded link to show them.

I did a small mailing to a doctors' niche in NYC. I attached real photos (printed at CVS of their site on an Android, my conversion on an Android, and a QR code they could scan to get to the site). The images came from an emulator. I did get one call out of 25 sent. It was a bit too much work. I'll just send a 4" x 6" photo of the converted site on mobile. Do sign up for dudamobile as an affiliate. GoMobi via Open SRS is worth adding to your bag of tricks.

For dentists, plastic surgeons Prosites offers top of the line sites full of content that they will mash up with the doctor's current info. $2,500 and up and you earn $500. Clayton is the contact. They do all the work. The doctor who called me wanted a site he saw. I contacted that developer, and they said it was $30,000. Prosite's examples are just as good. They will do a from scratch site for $7,500+. They will do a quick $2,500 site on spec that you can show a prospect. The stock photos that I saw on the plastic surgery sites would be difficult for me to find. The models are gorgeous!

I suppose you haven't read or searched for the 3-4 cold calling journals on here or the numerous threads regarding offline phone call marketing because you thought it would be better to just a open a brand new thread before doing research?

There is a company out of AZ called Tele Verde who are boss ballers in the cold calling industry and have very high conversion. Tweak your script with their help and pay to use them, it is well worth the money if what you are selling has a high enough profit margin.

Also search for a torrent by a guy named "Allan Pease" titled "How To Make Cold Calls." It should be a 2 disc audio file or mp3.You can REALLY boost your cold calling game by following his tips.

    lmao, sure buddy.

I run two call centers and have been involved in telemarketing myself for years. Theres no way you can have a 50% closing ration on a COLD CALL. Even on warm leads you don't get close to 50%

I think cold calling can be very hard, but it helps researching a bit who you are calling, and be prepare for questions that you never thought about.

    Echo that....
    1-400 is actually very good.
For 15+ years for me, the numbers work this way (give or take) 1-100 calls has an interest (based off of 10-15% owners talked to). out of that one interest about 20-30% of those will sell over the phone....face to face higher.
lots of variables....calling list plays a huge role, cold calling without owners name, you get the above numbers....if you research them, and or have owners name, higher yield.

You have to know your amount of failures it takes to create the sale. Only way to know that is get on the phone and test. Once you know the numbers, its easy to plan your success. Then scale up.

Cold calling is a tough gig and I would say your chances are better than 1-400 if you are a people person. I knew a guy that did outbound calls for a business and I would say about half the call he wouldn't even discuss the product he was selling. This allowed him to build a relationship with the client first and then expand on it. People will react better sometimes if they can get that friendship feeling from you, but it is a hard trait to learn and even master.

I was a "Pro Phone Salesman" for many years.
There are a number of different variables you have to take into consideration. What are you selling? Is it magazines? Cable for the internet or TV?
If you are selling stock over the telephone. Once you gain a client's confidence and show them a profit. They could be sold upwards of over one hundred thousand dollars. It would all depend on their net wealth.
One of the best markets to sell in this economic climate is "Business Opportunities" Unfortunately most of these deals are no good. Anyway that is my two cents worth.

There are whole courses and textbooks devoted to the art and science of cold calling, and I would think it would take a ton of practice for a lot of people who have not done this type of marketing before. The ability to gain trust is another key factor. The 1 out of 400 success rate is not surprising, and it paints a realistic picture of just how much work goes into cold calling. It is both time-consuming and it takes a high level of mental stamina. For those Internet marketers who want to go that route, I wish them the most success possible.
